Happy Birthday Martin Luther King Jr.!

Even though MLK’s birthday was officialy on Saturday, today is they day we actually celebrate it. Martin Luther King is the most important figure in history, don’t matter what your skin color is. He didn’t only help our ancestors gain freedom, he helped us learn right from wrong. Just imagine what the world would be like without this great man right here. If you really don’t know much about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. please go do your research because he means so much to this universe!
At age 35, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.
On August 28,1963 from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his 17 minute public speech in which he called for racial equality to an end to discrimination.
